This is a great way to recycle those postages stamps, swap cards and other ephemeras you’ve been collecting. These beautiful collages were created by Melbourne mixed media artist, Trudy Cook. Can certainly picture a couple of these hanging on my wall.

My eyes tend to gravitate toward things geographic and earthy. It’s perhaps why I love these great paper products and concepts from Japanese brand, Geografia. The product designs, graphics and packaging were created by Drill Design, Japan. Check out both sites when you get a chance. They're terrific sources of inspiration.

Intrigued by these crocheted portraits and cityscape by Portland-based artist, Jo Hamilton. If you do a little bit of crochet you will realize how incredible these pieces are. From one of her press file it was written:
“Jo Hamilton’s pieces are made of unusual media in highly descriptive forms. From a short distance, do you see yarn, illustration or fresh paint?”

Savoring these collage brooches of found objects created by Edinburgh based artist, Grainne Morton. Always good to hear from the artists themselves regarding their work and here is what she says:
“In most of my designs I aspire to evoke a feeling of nostalgia. I consciously work in a miniature scale, using a diverse range of materials in order to create attention so that the onlooker has to become more involved in the piece, hopefully sparking memory and thought, as well as making them smile.”

Japanese brand, Jumi Mona, handcrafts one-of-a-kind children's clothing and accessories trimmed primarily with incredible appliqué. May have to try this someday...a good excuse to get that fancy embroidery machine to replace my “sewing 101” model.
