In the early 70’s macramé jewelry was very popular with the hippies and grunge crowd but the craze had since faded. Glad it hasn’t totally disappeared as we would not be able to appreciate the beautiful intricate work of designer/artist, Amira Mednick . Her collection “consists of handmade original designs using macramé techniques with authentic South and Latin American string and various alternative materials, such as canvas, vinyl, leather, paint, collage, metals, stone, glass and ceramic beads.” So do take a look at her work.
