I am liking these large leather brooches from the Japanese online store, Spiral, so I just had to share. I believe the designer is Kodue Hibino but my Japanese translation could be faulty. In any case her work is very good so you should browse both sites and just enjoy.
I make it a point to check out new items at the Swedish online store, Cosas. There are always a number of things that I want to purchase. Unfortunately, they only deliver to European countries. Hopefully, one day they will make their way across the pond.
Cosas has compiled a marking system for their merchandise that helps their customers make sound environmental choices. Some of these choices indicate hand-made, fair trade, recycled, eco-friendly, etc… It’s a great system that I'd like to see other countries adopt as well.
It’s probably the idiom, “when pigs fly”, that drew me to these lamps produced by Artwork Studio, Japan. Target has a similar bronze lamp that has the pig on a rectangular base but I prefer these colorful designs. The same studio also manufactured the silhouette and birdcage lamps shown.
Hmmm, think I might just try repurposing birdcages…
